I have to make a cake for a theather show, for their cast party, they want like a sheet cake, covered in fondant, checker board look with green and purple, and a music disk, on top....any idea how can I do this.

how big will the cake need to be? I would just cut squares out of fondant in both colors and lay them on the cake in a checkerboard pattern. the size of the squares could depend on the look you want and what would fit best on the cake.
