I have 2 weddings coming up this month. Last time I did a tiered birthday cake, the client called me asking about the "sticks in the cake". I totally for got to tell her about them.

Do you normally tell a customer about the dowels? I am delivering 1 -2 tiered stacked heart shape on Saturday, and another Hexagon stacked grooms cake on the 25th. Should I tell the person at the reception location about them? Or they should know right?

I always assume that nobody has any sense. So I tell everyone...."since it's stacked, it needs support and you'll find those in the cake. Don't eat them." Or something lighthearted along those lines. If I'm dealing with a person working for the hall, and not my customer (during delivery) then I will definitely tell them, esp if I need the supports back (stress free supports). That way they know not to toss them.
