I have a four teir cake that I would like to just butter cream but I'm concerned that the butter cream wont be smooth enough finish. Does anyone have any tips to a semi smooth finsh.
Thanks for your help!!!
First of all I would suggest using Sugarshack's Buttercream or Indydebi's. Then use the Viva paper towel method, you can find the instructions here in the articles sections. Just make sure that you use a crusting buttercream (both listed are crusting). I found Sugarshack's to not be as sweet, even though I know it has the same amount of sugar as Indydebi's it just doesn't taste as sweet, which is good, because some of them are really sweet.
I have used both and I like them both and haven't had trouble working with either of them. They are both smooth and crust well.
Also, the less air you mix into your buttercream the better off you will be when it comes time to smooth it.
thanks I will check it out!
