I have to make cat figures for a cake and am not the most artistic gal out there. I've been trying to work with fondant and gumpaste, but it's coming along slowly. Does anyone have any tips for me? Or some advise on how to make them out of buttercream?

If you mean 3-D figures, try some of the polymer clay techniques. They work fine for fondant and gumpaste. You can find tutorials online. Sorry, I don't have any links to share but it shouldn't be hard to find. It's a place to start. Good luck!
