What size cakes are you making? Will you be using the BC for anything else, i.e., borders etc?

The wilton yearbook says to ice and decorate 6" round- approx. 3 cups
10"- 5 cups, 14"- 7 1/2 cups. For me, this will also be enough to fill between the layers. It depends on your habits with how much frosting you typically pile one. I'm pretty medium. For the amount of fondant needed, I know there is a chart on the Global Sugar Art website under fondant supplies that will help you prepare for that. It's called "How much fondant do I need?" Good luck, HTH.
