can you just melt chocolate and knead it into fondant to make choc fondant? im trying not to have to make candy clay, choc with corn syrup which is the only way i know to make choc fondant.
You can use melted chocolate, but I find that it changes the consistency of the fondant and can make it harder to roll out (for me). I add 1/2-3/4 c of cocoa (dutch process to color black, regular cocoa for chocolate) with the powdered sugar. You will need less sugar, but I only use as much as I need anyway. I think it makes the fondant taste a lot like tootsie rolls.
