How To Use A Sugar Craft Gun?

Hi
I dont think im am using mys uagrcraft gun properly?? I tried it and the sugar paste is not coming out of the gun?? Do i need to mix it with something so it is more pliable?? Or am i not using it right?Help!

Add shortening to soften it. It needs to be quite soft.
