I am very much a newbie, but have falling in love with creating things with cake!

I purchased Satin Ice and have been working with it. The problem I seem to have is it stretches very easily, which is different from the homemade fondant I have used. Sometimes it comes out with patches that look like elephant skin! icon_cry.gif

I have a wedding cake to do at the end of July and am afraid of the working with such a big piece as the bottom tier is 16". I use the 3D durable receipe, which I think is wonderful! The fondant seems to weigh it down, is this common? I have tried 1/8" to 1/4" thickness, what is recommended? Can I make the cake more durable?

What am I doing wrong? I am so worried about how am I going to have 3 neatly stacked tiers. Please HELP!
