Im am going to be doing a cake for my fathernlaw in a week for his bday and it is going to be a charger car, which is what he used to race when he was younger, im very puzzled and need help and instructions on exactly how to get a cake shaped like a car,,, please any advice helps!!
A cake shaped like a car is a lot of work, but doable. You will be baking several layers of cake and stacking them together with frosting. Then you will sculpt the cake from that big block of cake. Then you crumb coat and frost to look like a car.
If that sounds like too much, you could always make a nice sheet cake and do what is called a buttercream transfer. Basically, you get a coloring page or picture of this car and trace it with a black frosting or gel. Then you chill the outline and fill with colored frosting as you need. The frozen decoration can then be applied to your frosted cake.
