If I understand correctly, when rolling out fondant, you have to sprinkle on corn starch or icing sugar to prevent sticking. So, when your fondant is colored, after rolling it, I have a powderery residue on the fondant. What do I do to prevent this? Or, am I doing something wrong? Would really appreciate some tips.

After you apply the fondant onto your cake, lightly brush with lemon extract o vodka. The alcohol will evaporate and leave a perfect finish. By the way, dont use icing sugar it will make the fondant too sticky, cornstarch is better.

You can rub it with crisco which will soak into the fondant.

Rub it with veg shortening and wipe it with a paper towel.
