I was at wm earlier wanting to get a couple pieces of the foam core every has been suggesting for stacked cakes but the sizes I found there were
3-16's I was just wondering if this is the correct size or not,it seemed a little thin but could possibly work with proper support.I tried to find another thread about it but got a headache looking through so many post.I am wanting to use it on a 4 tiered stacked cake I have coming up soon.Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

You could use if for the individual tiers but not the base. I like to use masonite for the base. I have used 1/2" foam core for smaller tiers.

The cake I will be making will be 16,which I know I will have to use something stonger, the next layers will be 12,10 and 8, will the foam core be strong enough to hold up if doweled properly,I just want to try something better and less expensive than the wilton boards. Thanks!
