HOW DO I GET THE DIAMOND CHECKERED PATTERN USING FONDANT

You can try using an impression mat or using an embosser/cutter and make indentations by freehand. HTH

I did the quilted look on my pink pirate cake in cream cheese icing freehand with a long knife. Wiped after every press, but prob won't need to do that with fondant...

I also wanted to add that I saw Buddy on CAKEBOSS use a triangle shaped ruler and a stitching wheel to make a quilted design on the sides of a cake...
