Using Doilies?

When using a doilie on a cake board, do you still cover the board with wrap?

Honestly, I haven't seen a doilie used in years.

I don't think i would use one..would likely pick up grease and look unsightly. I say best to wrap the board or if you really want the look of the doilie, place it down and then cover it with clear contact paper or something similar.
