I have a customer picking up a cake with buttercream icing, fondant/gum paste decorations and edible images.
She will be picking up the cake Sat. for a function on Sun.
I am an edible image newbie.
Will the cake still be okay on Sun.
If I apply the images on Sat. morning???
An advise is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Yes, BC won't damage your EI

It won't go anywhere as long as you don't touch it, and if the cake is in the fridge even better. BC won't melt it if that is your concern, whipped topping does but even WT will keep for a good day icon_wink.gif

Okay, sorry for being a pest but my last experience with an image had bubbles under it soooo...
I was told it was probably too hot when I put the image on so.
If I refrig the cake.
can I put the image on it right out of the frig.
AND.....
What if the cake sweats???
What temp.
is your frig set at and how cool do you keep your house to prevent sweating?

It certanly is easier to put your EI on cold BC (if it's crusting BC better) but not necessary, personally I think it's a matter of practice; now, every time you refrigerate a cake you'll get sweating until it comes to RT, no way to stop it from happening, sorry thumbsdown.gif but in my experience if you don't touch your EI after putting it in place it won't affect it at all. Just keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it icon_wink.gif Good luck with your cake and post pics if you can.
P.S. You are not a pest, ask all you need, i'm happy to help and if I can't maybe there's someone out there who can, that's why we are here, to help one another and support our cake addiction icon_lol.gif
