I'm planning to make a build-a-bear/teddy bear cake for my son's upcoming birthday. It will be a 2 tiered cake, covered in fondant.
Here is the vision that I have so far. I was thinking of making the whole cake white, and then decorating with red/yellow/blue/green/orange circles of various sizes. I was also thinking of constructing a brown fondant teddy bear and putting it as the cake topper, beside a numeral '3' candle.
I have those plastic balloon bouquet toppers in the above mentioned colors, but I'm not sure where I could put them. I also have a teddy bear shaped cookie cutter but I don't have an edible writing marker, so I would have to construct eyes/nose/mouth if I wanted to use the cookie cutter.
I guess what I'd like to know is where I could put the balloons, and is there something I can do with the bear cookie cutter?
Or does anyone have any better ideas altogether? I'm very open to suggestions.
TIA!
