I am making a flag for a retirement cake. I do not have a airbrush. What can I use to paint on the fondant? Can you use the Americolor straight or do you have to mix it with something. Thanks for your help.

mix the color with some alcohol, like vodka, or lemon extract and you should be good to go! this will thin the gel dowm and the alcohol in it will evaporate quickly!

I have a bottle of Everclear in the decorating cabinet....I always get a giggle from the kids when they see me with it...."mom is drinking and caking again!"
I have a airbrush now...I highly recommend one!

Thanks guys!

So funny - I was decorating a cake and had my vodka out to use with my luster dust and I had some workers here working on my bathroom. They came in and asked me a question and saw the vodka and my husband's Jack Daniels on the counter. Of course, the vodka was opened! I would have like to been a fly on that wall after they walked away!
