I know this is a stupid question but I have to ask? What size pan would you use to make a full size sheet cake? Half sheet and so on? I want to make sure I am correct when I order some badly needed new pans!

This varies a lot depending on who you ask. The commercial standard is as follows:

Quarter Sheet Cakes: 8 x 12
Half Sheet Cakes: 12 x 16
Full Sheet Cakes: 16 x 24
