I just got my first order for a wedding cake! The bride wants vanilla almond cake.....this may be a stupid question, but can I just use a french vanilla cake mix and add almond flavoring? If so, how much flavoring do I add? Is there another recipe you would recommend? WASC?

UGH! I am nervous!! She wants to taste cake this week and of course I am getting ready to leave on vacation on Friday!!!

The WASC recipe here on CC is a White Almond Sour Cream cake...so it starts with a white (vanilla) cake mix and you add sour cream and almond flavoring. That might work. The link is below. It makes a moist cake with a fine crumb. It's used in lots of wedding cakes.

I have used a white cake mix and added almond extract to the batter and it was great.
