Okay so I have a recipe that has been tried and true for me in the past, suddenly in the past 2 days I can't get one to turn out! I usually use round pans , this time it is a quarter sheet. I get it out, cool it, and UGH! hard and dry WTH ! Soooooooooooo ANYONE some suggestions ? baking time, additions , something????? I don't usually do giant cries for help...but HHHHHEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! please
recipe basic, 1/2c shortening, 1.5c sugar, cocoa+red paste, 2.5 flour, 1c. buttermilk, 1t. salt, 1t. vanilla, 1t b.soda+1.5T. vinegar=foam then fold in. Oven 325 35min.
Soooooooooo apparently the cake goods heard my plea, after 4 tries my cake finally turned out.geeeeeeeeez Amen!
I use Sarah tweeked red velvet cake recipe It is really great and I did a 4 tier wedding cake so it you ever want to try another one. The cakes do not stick to the pans.
