I am in need of a nice cream cheese decorators icing. The base can be all shortening, that is fine, I need it to take colour well, too. I need it to have a decent crust to it after being allowed to sit, and work well at a medium to stiff consistancy so as to be able to make flowers....HELP?!

I'll give you a 'bump' here, because I too would love to find a perfect cream cheese frosting that isn't runny...................

I use a great Wilton Cream Cheese Icing recipe. I guess you can add more PS to make for stiff for flowers.

1/2 cup butter
8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk

Cream the butter and cream cheese until smooth, add sugar and milk. Beat on high speed until smooth (30-60 seconds).

I used this icing for my Dallas Cowboys cake in my gallery. The colors came out great.
