What type of icing or other product is best to use for writing on a small area of fondant?

Really any icing you work well with, works on fondant. A slightly thinned royal works well, too.

Edible ink markers?

I use the edible food color markers and I also used food coloring. I thin out the coloring and paint it on. I find this works the best for me.
