Okay so I made a pear cake and of course want to practice decorating it...
I am just covering with with BC and then wanted to decorate it with small gumpaste pears around the edge... how can I make a true pear color??? UGGGG!!!
BTW allI have right now are the wilton colors that I got at Micheals.
You can get a more realistic looking pear, in my opinion, by making them a white color, then dusting them. My site is so new, I'm not sure which cakes he put on there...but I made a pear wedding cake that the little fruit turned out awesome. I would get a real pear at the store so you have something to try and match. I THINK I used apple green and added fern or rainforest until I achieved the shade I wanted. Loved doing the cake...it was so much fun. Ok, went and looked, it is on the site, second row down in the gallery. I think I dusted with a slight brush of a pink shade, just to add a blush look, but just a hint. Hope this helps! Click on the pic and you'll see close up shots.
