Does Cherry Pie Filling Have To Be Refrigerated?

I was wanting to use some pie filling on top of a cake and partially cover it with fondant, does anyone know if it has to be refrigerated after it is opened?

I'm pretty sure it does, but it should say on the can. You can also use cherry sleeve filling that does not need refrigeration.
