I will be icing a 3 tier cake next week, a 12-9-6 inch. The icing color will be a soft wedgewood blue. I understand that to get a uniform color I'll need to color all of my icing at once.
I only have a 5 quart mixer, if I use the 5 quart mixer recipe of sugarshacks, will it be enough (not using for filling)?
I was hoping to do the color as it was mixing, will I need to make 2 batches and color after it is mixed up?

I never measure my icing, so I'm no help there, but if you end up having to make two batches, put both batches in a large container and mix it by hand with a big spoon. At least it will all be the same shade.
