i am making a cake for my bf's sister for a party saturday. she said she wants white cake with chocolate frosting. I don't think I've ever had this cake/frosting combination before and am not sure if it is the best. I think a yellow cake with chocolate frosting would be better. Any thought/ideas would be much appreciated.

I've never had white cake with chocolate frosting but it should taste great together.

I think it might taste alright. Otherwise, you could try this chocolate hazelnut frosting - (I am obsessed with it lately... sooooooooo yummy). I found the recipe on this site by doing a recipe search of Nutella. I think it would taste AWESOME on white cake.

1 c. butter (softened)
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
4 c. powdered sugar
1 1/3 c. Nutella
2 tsp vanilla extract
milk

Cream butter & shortening. Sift cocoa with sugar and add gradually to the creamed mixture. Add a TBSP of milk at a time until desired consistency is reached. Add nutella and vanilla. Blend until smooth and creamy.
