I made a cake today w/ stars coming out of it. I stuck the fondant on 2 days ago, onto the floral wire and today they totally fell. Wires were falling over and stars were not sticking like they should.
How do you make the wire and fondant stay????

To attach fondant to wire, moisten the wire with gum glue or meringue powder mixed with water and push the wire into the fondant.

I've made really small stars with two star cutouts sandwiched together with the wire running between them.

Don't put the wire directly into the cake. It's not food-safe and also the wire is likely to tear through the cake (think of that little wilton cake leveler that you probably own...what cuts the cake is a wire). The wire needs to go into a straw or coffee stir that's been pushed into the cake. Trim the straw to the height of the cake so it doesn't show.
