I was just wondering what is the best gauge of wire to use with gum paste flowers?

TIA,
Ashley

It depends on which kind of flower. The higher the number the thinner the wire. I used to work for this place where they used plain. wire. Not cloth covered not paper covered. Was fun so much fun to keep the flowers on there--never mind.

But for little bitty flowers use lighter wire (higher gauge number) and lower numbered wire for heaftier flowers--big callas & roses, orchids, lilies etc.

But then like a lily will have each petal wired so you can use medium to lighter wire because they all get florist taped together.

Wired thoughts for you.

Oy okay! Glad I asked! LOL Maybe I'll actually put to use the floral designer knowledge I paid for and just use that with the gum paste flowers too!
