Sanding Sugar On Ri

I am frosting some cookies in RI and I was wondering if you put sanding sugar on when the frosting is wet or dry?

Check out the tutorial from BakinCC on applying sanding sugar (march 1 entry) She explained what she did so well that hopefully you will be able to apply her expertise to your cookies. Best of luck!

I let the RI dry completely then I "paint" the surface with water and the sugars attach nicely. The water sort of melts the top of the RI enough that the sugar sticks. I've added sugar when the RI is wet and sometimes the weight of the sugar causes the RI to spill over the edge of the cookie. HTH!
