that people say to add jello powder for the ganache let just say?

What does it do, and powder jello is it safe? lol

I don't know why they do it, maybe to stabilize them. I only use gelatin to stabilize mousses or whipped cream, but I they never mentioned it in school, so I would be hesitant to use it.
