Hi all... I first want to say that the cakes on this site are fantastic. I have gotten soooo many ideas from your pics.

I am wanting to do a sculpted 1958 Chevy truck for my Dad's birthday but I have NO idea where to start. I have a sketch that I have done for it but I'm not sure how to go about carving a cake without it falling apart on me. Is there a special recipe or cake combo that may be more sturdy for the carving process? Someone suggested using pound cake. Would this stand up better? The truck has a lot of rounded feminine curves and just the thought of "hacking" on this poor cake terrifies me. lol

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated... thank you so much
