Top tier of a wedding cake i'm doing has dragees. Should I stick them on with buttercream? royal icing? Something else?
Also, how do you pronounce 'gragees' is it 'drag eeze'
Thanks in advance all you fabulous, wonderful, knowlegable people!
Royal Icing or gum glue are your best bets. Depending on the look you are going for, you can also moisten them and impress them partially into the fondant for a set-in look.
I always use a little bit of RI. Just place the RI on the cake where you want the dragees to go. Then use a tweezer to pick up the dragee and then push it into the RI on the cake.
I forgot to mention that I got the tweezer idea from Sugarshack.
You can go to the Miriam-Webster website to hear the pronunciation. Here's the link. There will be a red speaker icon. click it to listen.

That's pretty cool Barbaranne! I didn't know that you could listen to the pronunciation. That's very neat!
Really? Dra zay? Interesting. Learn something new every day. If I said it that way around here they would think I didn't know how to pronounce it. Around here it's drag-gee. I guess it's a fondunt, fondahnt thing.
Can anyone tell me where I might buy dragees in Boise?
Thanks!
someone else from boise! if you don't mind me asking, where do you shop for your supplies?
where do you get the gragees other then ordering them online? is there a store that sells them?
