i will be making a 50th class reunion cake made of stacked books and the top book is the school yearbook. my questions is what should i bring to put around the cake, for the presentation? my first idea is to put a couple papers around about what was happening in 1959. but i need a couple of really creative ideas of what to do, to really make this cake perfect. PLEASE HELP!!!

I like your idea of using old newspapers. Why don't you use pages from old newspapers (original or copied) and cover your cake board with them. Then use food-safe basket wrap to cover the papers and your cake board.

Or you could photocopy individual pictures of the grad class, and use them to make a border on your cake board (under the basket wrap of course).

I don't remember 50 years ago (I wasn't born yet! icon_lol.gif ). But you could also use fondant or sugar paste to re-create some costume jewelry or a watch or some other common item from that era. Then place them around the cake.

HAVE FUN! icon_biggrin.gif
