Ok, this is going to sound like stupid question, but when you are trying out new recipes or doing tastings, so you do a full recipe? I want to try several different recipes but we'll have cake coming out of our ears! Can I 1/2 the WASC recipes do you think?

I 1/2 the wasc all the time! It's very easy since it calls for 2 boxes of cake mix, 2 c sugar, 2c flour, etc. ...

You can "quarter" it too! Just split a box in half (weigh it out) and use 1/4 of the ingredients.
