I have to do a two tier wedding covered in SMBC and bride wants fresh roses in between the tiers and top of cake. I know about using pesticide free flowers and not sticking them into the cake and stuff, but I also know that it will mark the icing.

What is the best way to do this? I also remember reading about someone putting a parchment circle or something over the top of the cake so it doesn't touch the icing. I have never done any flowers in between tiers.
