Sometimes I crack myself up!!! When I read this yesterday, I honestly thought that this was some kind of a HUGE cake pan.

I thought you were really supposed to cover PVC with fondant or something to keep it from touching the cake...It might not be any worse than eating deli meat from a plastic tub, though. There are conflicting reports on google on whether PVC is food safe, but it looks like as long as it isn't heated or allowed to sit touching the food for a long time the chemicals in it don't leach into the food.
