Can anyone tell me how long a Betty Crocker cake mix will keep. It will be covered with buttercream and fondant.
My 50th birthday cake was BC with fondant. (Pic on the home page of my website). Top tier was left over. We cut it when the cake was 8 days old. It was JUST STARTING to taste like a grocery store cake. Still very edible, not as 'fresh' tasting as my normal cakes, but if I was a grocery store, it could sit on the for-sale shelf for another 2-3 days!
I agree! I use only Betty Crocker mixes, and they keep for a really long time!
I use Betty Crocker all the time as well and once you "seal it" with
Buttercream/Fondant it will keep at least 5 to 7 days.
Thank you so much for your advice ladies.
I was getting worried that I would only have 5 days to complete this massive castle cake!
Gives me a couple more days.........
