Good Morning everyone......
I want to make a Father's Day cake in the shape of a wine bottle....I have looked in the gallery for pics and need some more guidance....
how thick should my support be? should I use some kind of pipe screwed up to the bottom plate or will regular wooden dowels do?
I am thinking of stacking 6" cakes ......and match the height of a real bottle...
any help or suggestions will BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.....
Sounds like we're about to do a similar thing.
I've made 6" cakes for a stand-up baby bottle for a shower for this weekend. It'll match the invitations, hopefully.
It'll be in the range of 16" tall, we'll see when I'm done.
I've got a 5/8" wooden dowel recessed and screwed on a 3/4" piece of plywood (12" square).
I've never done this before & hoping it works.
I am curious to see the outcome and how you got the result you desired. This sounds like a great idea for my mom-in-law.
GOOD LUCK
