I have tried and tried to put royal icing on my cookies and I just can't seem to get the top to be smooth but not run of the edges. What am I doing wrong. I am using the NFSC with Antonia's royal icing.
it is a matter of getting the right consistency. Trim your cookies with a semi stiff RI then thin the icing and fill in. I have figured out to get the top really smooth the RI has to be pretty runny. I use the same recipe and end up adding alot of water to get it right, just a little at a time.
