How do I tint fondant black without the after taste and not make it chocolate?

the only thing i could tell you from experience is...it may turn purple. that's what happened to me, but someone here told me to add yellow to it, let it sit overnight and then add a bit of black...and it worked! icon_wink.gif

I think Americolor is the best color that you can use. You just really have to use quite a bit. But the good news is that Americolor is much stronger than Wilton. You'll use a lot less of it! And I have never noticed a taste with it.
