Has anyone tried this? I once made a non-dairy chocolate torte using rich's whipped topping but I cant remember the texture and need to make a non-dairy cake and would like to use ganache to ice it rather than buttercream. Anyone tried this before?
I tried to make ganache with Bettercream (which I think is what you are talking about). It was a disaster... I had to toss the whole batch... the chocolate siezed and was a lumpy-mess. This is just my experience (and maybe I did something wrong), but I have made ganache LOTS of times...
Bettercreme is a buttercream alternative while whipped topping is a heavy cream alternative - this may have been the issue.
