My friend has asked me to make a cake for her son's baptism. They need the cake on Sunday but she wants to pick it up on Friday. Is that too early for a cake? I plan on covering the cake with fondant and the filling is going to be a banana pudding.
I personally think it is too early but I've heard people decorate cake (no dummies) for a week.
Does anything need to be refrigerated? I'm thinking of your filling...
almost all of my christening cakes are done on thursday or friday for the sunday and they are still getting eaten 3 or 4 days after that. it just depends on your cake. i use madeira or chocolate with buttercream, lemon curd or jam and these are all fine out of the refridgerator - not sure about banana pudding though - could be a problem
