I think she means the links to download the final spreadsheet. I'm not sure how to attach an excel file. It doesn't want to accept it when I try.
Yes, I noticed yesterday that the links to the spreadsheet weren't working. I have a copy on my desktop. If you can't get them before this afternoon. I can post it when I get home from work this evening.
The spreadsheets with votes and recipes. I had been booted off the watch list, too.
I keep getting booted off the watched topics list -- for nearly all my watched topics! The link in my signature is working -- it goes to another thread with all the links on it. I don't know if those links are working or not. Will check and keep you posted.
Okay I checked and the links on the thread from my signature are all working. Hope that helps some!
Bobwonderbuns.....Thanks! But your links were not the ones that aren't working........ it is the links in this thread that used to go to an excel spreadsheet with the results and recipes from the yellow cake scratch off on it. I will post it again from my home computer tonight. I saved a copy when the OP originally posted it.
Thanks for trying though! It was kind of you!
FWIW I have noticed other links not working on CC lately (OK at least one - Leah's link in the SPS thread)...might be a CC problem since I know they are working on the database this week...
Write to the gal who did the spreadsheet -- she emailed me my copy of it. Unfortunately I forgot her name!
Does anyone have a copy of the final spreadsheet? Thanks!
lroberts,
PM me your email address and I will send it to you. I tried uploading the spreadsheet to Cake Central again, but I keep getting an error. There is a link to the spreadsheet a few pages back, but that link isn't working either. Don't know what is going on!
Carol
For those who where successful with the WOW Rebecca Rather's cake what where your weights for the flour and sugar? I made the cake and it tasted wonderful but it also sunk in the middle. Since I keep getting mixed answers on what the ingredients should weigh I thought that might have been a problem. I used 330g for the four and 530g for the sugar
I just found this thread...I think my email is linked to my profile...does anyone mind sending me one? Thanks!
Here is a link to the yellow cake spreadsheet.
Enjoy,
Carol

Wish I had seen this thread before aking my daughter's wedding cake using WASC (way too dense)!
is there any info anywhere as to who won the scratch off or if any of these recipes have been tried and results?
The winner, 2nd and 3rd place are on page 25, along with a link to an excel spreadsheet with all the results.

I can't open this link either. Help! Is it working for anyone or does anyone have it saved that you could share?
I love this thread. I'm going to try the new SW yellow cake today and decrease the milk to 1/4 cup. I'm testing it out on a sheet cake. Has anybody tried this recipe in a sheet cake? I would hate for it to sink in the middle!
Also, question....why was the White on White recipe included in the yellow cake scratch off? I was under the assumption yellow cakes have yolks. Am I wrong in this?
I just made the Slyvia Weinstock yellow cake (with 1/4 c milk adjustment). I was really disappointed at how much it shrank! The taste was ok, but I didn't fall over with excitement.
Also made CakeLove's yellow cake. Loved the texture. Taste was ok too, but I subbed all vanilla for the brandy. Why can't I get happy with a yellow cake recipe?
i use the original sw yellow the one with sour cream--and i typo-ed the flour--i use 2.5 cups--works great though--i use 2 whole eggs and two egg whites and i just add them to the well creamed butter and sugar--i do not whip the egg whites & yolks separately--just toss 'em all in and get a good emulsion from that point--
and it comes out as a white cake--ti's very pale--someone else made this and it was super yellow--don't know why mine comes out this way but it does--
yellow and white cakes can take a lot of trial and error

I'm surprised it works so well with half the eggs! Maybe the other person's cake was more yellow because they used all the eggs.
I'm just about to throw my hands up in the air and use butter cake instead of yellow. I think part of the issue is that I grew up on yellow cake mix, and I'm having a hard time replicating that without all the chemicals, lol.
