I found her recipe for Black Forest Cake when I did search for a cherry cake. Its sounds great and am going to try for my BIL's birthday cake since he requested cherry. But I don't have any Nielsen Massey chocolate extract and not sure where to buy it. Can I get it at a regular grocery store? If not can I substitute something else for it? Thanks!

I've never seen it at a regular grocery store. I have a brownie recipe that calls for chocolate extract and I just substitute regular vanilla extract. I'm not sure how this would affect the cake though, since it's not my recipe and I haven't tried it yet. You can try pm-ing her. She's very helpful!

Here's some info about chocolate extract. Seems vanilla works equally as well.......... HTH icon_smile.gif
