I have a cake to icing tonight but I ran out of shortening. Can I make the icing on the back of the Hershey coco box and put it under fondant?
I know it's too late to help. But I thought maybe for future reference...in my experience the shortening really helps the icing to hold up. Buttercream frostings without shortening for me have just kind of rolled down the side and bulged. Just my experience. =o)
