I've made a fondant present cake and I need to write happy bd on it. Never tried it before. Not as easy as you would think. I was going to put happy BD on little hearts hanging on the cake but I can't get anything to write on the fondant. I don't have time to go to the craft store. I've tried using straight coloring paste and it doesn't work that well. Any sugetions would be much appreciated at this time. TIA

you could also cut out or model the letters from fondant or gumpaste

The hearts would be too small to cut out letters with fondant or gumpaste. Instead of royal icing, wonder if color flow would work. I already have some made up.

thanks...

I did a gift box cake just the other day & used royal icing to write on the fondant gift tag.

Guess I'll just whip some royal icing up real fast. Thanks so much everyone.
