I need to make this cake for the weekend! Can anyone tell me how to do the torso part of the cake?

OOPS! I forgot to post the picture!!!

Also can I use my pyrex bowl for the dress shape instead of buying the wonder mold pan?

I use black fondant on a 1/4" wooden dowel. I just sharpened the dowell and pushed it down through the 'skirt' cake until the tip stuck into my cardboard. Then I pushed the 'bodice' onto the skewer. I had to reshape a little but it was otherwise pretty simple.

I used a doll pic and decapitated it and took the arms off and covered it with black fondant. I know it is a little demented (sp?) but it is what worked for me. HTH Jen

I hope you didn't have any little girls around when you decapitated Barbie! LOL!

Yes you can use a pyrex bowl. OR bake a layer of different rounds (8,7,6) and carve it a bit into shape.

See I just couldn't use a doll pic. My poor nieces are at my house all the time (the oldest is 12) and if they saw me decapitating and dismembering Barbie, they would seriously be disturbed for life!
