okay, so I am making a WALL-E and EVE cake for my son's birthday, and am now contemplating the support system. I think I have WALL-E figured out, but my question is about EVE.
I am using a domed bowl (small Pampered Chef batter bowl) for the bottom of her body (the domed part at the bottom), and I would like her to be "floating" just a little bit. I was thinking of using a wooden dowel to support her and cutting a piece of pvc pipe and placing it over the dowel to create the floating effect. However, I was wondering about the pvc smooshing into the bottom of the cake from the weight.
So the question is this...should I just cut a small round board (i was thinking foamcore) to put over the pvc to support? Anyone else have any ideas?
I know if there is an answer out there, I can count on you guys! icon_smile.gif
