I make a 3d cake for my son's birthday every year... but usually they are easy ones - pooh, rubber ducky, farm/barn - this year he wants a poodle?! yikes! I am clueless on how to make the cake and VERY clueless on how to make it look furry?! PLEASE help???!!!! thanx!!!! icon_smile.gif jennifer icon_smile.gif

Poodle fur would be easy ~ use an appropriate sized star tip and make rosettes wherever the poodle has its curly fur.

You could use the stand-up lamb pan to make the cake and just add dog details in buttercream rather than lamb details.

I've made a 3D puppy but it wasn't a poodle. I can tell you that to make hair, you will need tip #233. It helps if you put pipping gel or light corn syrup in your frosting. Hope this helps. Good luck.
