I have this cake due for Sat. so I baked this morning, let the cakes cool and crumb coated both layers when they were cool. Then it dawned on me, I had forgotten to fill both layers as they were suppose to have strawberry filling in both. Is it to late to cut them and fill them? I really don't have time for a trip to town for more supplies to make another. Anybody got any suggestions?...PLEASE?????? icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

No need to worry icon_biggrin.gif Cut each layer in half now and fill, then do another thin crumb coat - nobody will ever know the difference thumbs_up.gif

You could split each tier [ tort them] leaving the center filling of buttercream and add the strawberry to the 2 additional cuts. This would give you 3 layers of filling and 4 layers of cake. Use toothpicks to mark where you split them so you can re-stack them and have it come out lever.
