How do you add fresh flowers to a cake?

carefully! they need to be safe to go on cakes, plenty of plants are poisonous.
differnt people then do it different ways, it depends on the look you are going for. you might wrap the stems in florist tape, wire the flower, and insert it into styrofoam, like for the middle of tiers, or as a topper.

I have used those Wilton flower spikes, they are not very big and they push in to the cake where you want to place the flowers. You could also cut wax paper to the size of your cake and lay the flowers on top of the paper, I would do this if the cake was a tiered cake and the flowers would fill between the tiers. icon_biggrin.gif
